At CookieYes, we are committed to providing high-quality services that help businesses comply with cookie consent regulations. This Refund Policy outlines the terms under which refunds may be granted for our subscription-based services, including free trials and auto-renewals.
1. Free Trial & Automatic Subscription Renewal
- CookieYes offers a 14 days free trial, allowing users to experience our service before committing to a paid plan.
- During trial sign-up, we collect payment details upfront. If the user does not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription will automatically renew into a paid plan.
- By signing up for a free trial, you agree that your trial will convert into a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial expires.
Important Notice:
- Cancellation before the trial ends will prevent any charges.
- If the trial auto-renews into a paid plan, the subscription charge is final, and refunds will not be issued.
- Your 14-day withdrawal right does not apply once the trial converts into a paid plan.
2. Waiver of 14-Day Withdrawal Right
Under EU law (Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(m)), you have a right to withdraw from digital service contracts within 14 days of purchase. However, this right does not apply if:
- You expressly request immediate access to the service, and
- You acknowledge that you waive your right to withdraw once access begins.
At CookieYes, we require users to explicitly accept this waiver at the time of trial sign-up and before automatic renewal.
You will be asked to confirm the following at sign-up:
“By starting your free trial, you agree that your subscription will automatically renew at the end of the trial period unless canceled. You also request immediate access to our service and acknowledge that you waive your 14-day withdrawal right once the trial converts into a paid plan.”
Before auto-renewal, you will receive a reminder email confirming this waiver.
3. Eligibility for Refunds
Refunds are generally not provided once the trial converts to a paid plan. However, we will consider refund requests in the following cases:
3.1. Refunds Will Be Issued If:
- Billing Errors: You were incorrectly charged due to a system error or duplicate payment.
- Subscription Without Trial: Within 14 days if you subscribed to CookieYes without trial.
- Service Outage: A technical failure on our end prevented access to the service for more than 24 consecutive hours.
- Regulatory Compliance Changes: If new laws prevent you from using CookieYes in your jurisdiction, we may issue a refund on a prorated basis.
3.2. Refunds Will Not Be Issued If:

Auto-Renewal Charges: You forgot to cancel before the trial ended. By continuing the use of services after the trial, you:
- Acknowledge that the withdrawal period has expired before payment.
- Waive your statutory rights under Article 16(a) of the EU consumer rights directive.
- Subscription Term Commitment: Refunds will not be issued for early cancellation after 14 days, where you bought a subscription without trial.
- Dissatisfaction with Features: Refunds will not be issued if you decide that the service does not meet your expectations after access has begun.
Users are responsible for managing their subscription and cancellation settings within their account dashboard.
4. How to Request a Refund
To submit a refund request, follow these steps:

- Provide Required Information:
- Email Address registered with the CookieYes account
- Subscription Plan (Basic/Pro/Ultimate)
- Order Number/Invoice Number
- Reason for Refund Request
- Review Process: We will review your request within 5 business days.
- Processing Time: Approved refunds will be processed within 14 business days using the original payment method.
Refunds will only be considered if they meet the conditions outlined in Section 3.
5. Cancellation Policy
5.1. How to Cancel Your Subscription Before Auto-Renewal
If you do not wish to continue after your trial, you must cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
How to Cancel:
- Log into your CookieYes dashboard.
- Navigate to the Organisations & Sites section in the profile menu on the top right side of your screen.
- Click on the three dots on the Site URL row.
- Click on the Cancel Subscription option to cancel your trial.
We will send reminder emails before the trial ends to help you manage your subscription.
5.2. Cancellation After Auto-Renewal (No Refunds)
Once your trial converts to a paid plan:
- Canceling your subscription will stop future billing, but will not result in a refund for the current billing period.
- Refunds will not be granted for unused time/FUP on your plan.
6. Chargeback & Dispute Policy
- If a chargeback is initiated with your payment provider, your account may be suspended or terminated.
- We reserve the right to dispute chargebacks by providing evidence of:
- Your explicit waiver of withdrawal rights.
- Your use of the service.
- Emails sent confirming the auto-renewal process.
To avoid disputes, please contact us before initiating a chargeback.
7. Changes to This Policy
CookieYes reserves the right to update this Refund Policy at any time. If changes are made, we will:
- Notify users 30 days before changes take effect.
- Display an updated version of the policy on our website.
